It started as a simple positive affirmation, a way to change the subject when talk turned to bad weather. A way to change “Boy, is it hot here in Florida” to “Yes but it’s just a hot day in paradise”.
Then it slowly evolved and grew into a magical, almost mystical method for dealing with many of the challenges of life. Although it doesn’t provide a cure for “I hate my job, we have to move” or “The doctor wants to amputate”, it helps bring a certain perspective to situations where your ability to cope may be in doubt.
There’s rarely a situation where the immediate application of “Just Another Day in Paradise” fails to bring immediate relief. People smile, some chuckle, and more than a few laugh right out loud. Just like you’re doing right now.
For generations folks have tried to find paradise. They invest a great deal of time, energy and money on the quest. They buy maps or a compass, or maybe a new car, or a better body, a different spouse. But paradise can’t be found, it can only be created.
It has to be created from scratch each and every morning. Cows need to be milked, people go to work, and paradise must be found. Have you found yours?
If so, don’t be stingy, pass it on. If not, why not start right now? Here’s some ideas to get you started.
“I’ll bet this traffic backup goes goes on for miles”
Yes but it’s just another scenic day in paradise.
“Until the power comes back on, we’ll have to use candles”
Then it will be just another illuminating day in paradise.
“Look honey, the jewelry store is having a sale.”
Looks like it’s going to be just another expensive day in paradise!
